How the refundable security and damage deposit works on rental orders.

Deposit amount
A refundable security and damage deposit of 50% of the rental subtotal is collected on rental orders. This percentage is configurable by Van Buren Creates and the amount that applies to your order is shown before checkout.
Refund of the deposit
The deposit is refundable. After items are returned and inspected, the deposit is released back to the original payment method, less any amounts described below.
Damage, loss and cleaning
If an item is returned damaged beyond normal use, is missing, or requires cleaning beyond normal wipe-down, the repair, replacement or cleaning cost may be deducted from the deposit. Van Buren Creates will describe any deduction to you before it is applied.
Late returns
Items returned after the end of the rental window may affect the deposit, since late returns can prevent the next reservation.
Card details
Deposits are handled through the payment process at checkout. Van Buren Creates does not store or view card numbers.
